عَنْ عَبْدِ اللّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي صَعْصَعَةَ: أَنّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الخُدْرِيِّ رضِيَ اللّهُ عنْهُ قَالَ لَهُ: «إني أراكَ تُحِبُّ الْغَنَم والْبادِيَةَ فإِذا كُنْتَ في غَنَمِكَ -أَوْ بادِيَتِكَ- فَأَذَّنْتَ لِلصَّلاةِ، فَارْفَعْ صَوْتَكَ بالنِّدَاءِ، فَإِنَّهُ لاَ يَسْمَعُ مَدَى صَوْتِ المُؤَذِّنِ جِنُّ ولا إِنْسٌ وَلا شَيْءٌ إِلّا شَهِدَ لَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ» قالَ أبُو سَعِيدٍ: «سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللّهِ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم». رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ.
Abdullah ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Saʿsaʿah reported that Abu Said al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: "I see that you love sheep and the desert. So when you are with your sheep — or in your desert — and you make the call to prayer, raise your voice with the call, for no jinn, human, nor anything else hears the range of the muezzin's voice but that it will bear witness for him on the Day of Resurrection." Abu Said said: "I heard it from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)." Reported by al-Bukhari.

"the range of the muezzin's voice": that is, the utmost extent and limit that the muezzin's voice reaches.

الإشادة بفضل المؤذن الَّذِي يكبّر اللّه ويوحده، وأنّ كل شيء يسمعه يشهد له يوم القيامة، والفائدة من هذه الشهادة إشهاره بالفضل وعلو المنزلة يومئذ. استحباب الأذان للمنفرد وطلب رفع الصوت به.
Praise of the merit of the muezzin who magnifies Allah and declares His oneness, and that everything which hears him will bear witness for him on the Day of Resurrection; the benefit of this witnessing is the proclamation of his merit and high rank on that Day. The recommendation of the call to prayer for one praying alone, and the desirability of raising the voice with it.
