عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ: أَنَّ رجُلًا أَصَابَ مِنِ امْرَأَةٍ قُبْلَةً، فأَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّمَ فَأَخْبرَهُ، فأَنْزَلَ اللّهُ تَعَالَى: وَأَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ طَرَفَيِ النَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِّنَ اللَّيْلِ ۚ إِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ فقالَ الرَّجُلُ: أَلِيَ هَذَا؟ قالَ: «لِجَمِيعِ أُمَّتِي كُلِّهِمْ» مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ.
Ibn Masud (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that a man kissed a woman, then came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and informed him. So Allah the Exalted revealed: "And establish prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night. Indeed, good deeds do away with misdeeds" [Surah Hud: 114]. The man said: "Is this for me?" He said: "For all of my ummah, all of them." Agreed upon (al-Bukhari and Muslim).

أصاب: لمس وأخذ. قبلة: من التقبيل. أقم الصلاة طرفي النهار: أول النهار وآخره، قيل المراد الصبح والعصر. زلفًا من الليل: المغرب والعشاء. إنّ الحسنات يذهبن السيئات: إن فعل الخيرات يكفر الذنوب السالفة.
"kissed": touched and took. "a kiss": from the act of kissing. "establish prayer at the two ends of the day": the beginning of the day and its end; it is said that what is meant is Fajr and Asr. "at the approach of the night": Maghrib and Isha. "Indeed, good deeds do away with misdeeds": that doing good deeds expiates past sins.

A statement of the merit of performing the prayers, for they remove sins from the one who performs them. It is forbidden to kiss a woman who is not lawful for one, and likewise to shake hands with her.
