عَنْ أَبي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ: أَنَّ رسُولَ اللّهِ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم قالَ: «لا يَزَالُ أَحَدُكُمْ في صَلاةٍ مَا دَامتِ الصَّلاَةُ تَحْبِسُهُ، لا يَمْنَعُهُ أَنْ يَنْقَلِبَ إِلى أَهْلِهِ إِلَّا الصَّلاةُ» مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Each one of you remains in prayer as long as the prayer detains him; nothing prevents him from returning to his family but the prayer." Agreed upon (al-Bukhari and Muslim).

تحبسه: تمنعه من الانصراف إلى أهله. ينقلب: يرجع.
"Detains him": prevents him from departing to his family. "Returning (yanqalib)": going back.

فضل انتظار الصلاة. أنّ الإنسان ما دام ينتظر الصلاة ليس له غرض آخر دنيوي فهو حكمًا في صلاة من حيث الفضل والثواب.
The merit of waiting for the prayer. That as long as a person is waiting for the prayer with no other worldly aim, he is judged to be in prayer with respect to merit and reward.
