عَنْ أَبي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ قالَ: قالَ رسُولُ اللّهِ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم: «صَلاةُ الرَّجُلِ في جَماعَةٍ تُضَعَّفُ عَلى صَلاَتِهِ في بَيْتِهِ وَفِي سُوقِهِ خَمْسًا وَعِشْرينَ ضِعْفًا، وذَلِكَ أَنَّهُ إِذا تَوَضَّأَ فَأَحْسَنَ الْوُضُوءَ، ثُمَّ خَرَجَ إِلى المَسْجِدِ، لا يُخْرِجُهُ إِلّا الصَّلاةُ، لَمْ يَخْطُ خَطْوَةً إِلّا رُفِعَتْ لَهُ بهَا دَرَجَةٌ، وَحُطَّ عَنْهُ بِهَا خَطِيئَةٌ، فَإِذا صَلَّى لَمْ تَزَلِ المَلائِكَةُ تُصَلِّي عَلَيْهِ مَا دَامَ في مُصَلّاهُ، مَا لَمْ يُحْدِثْ: اللَّهُمَّ، صَلِّ عَلَيْهِ، اللَّهُمَّ ارْحَمْهُ، وَلا يَزَالُ في صَلاةٍ مَا انْتَظَرَ الصَّلاةَ» مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ، وَهَذَا لَفْظُ الْبُخَارِيّ.

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A man's prayer in congregation is multiplied over his prayer in his house and in his marketplace by twenty-five times. That is because, when he performs wudu and does it well, then goes out to the mosque with nothing driving him out but the prayer, he takes no step but that by it a degree is raised for him and a sin is wiped from him. Then when he prays, the angels do not cease to invoke blessings upon him as long as he remains in his place of prayer, so long as he does not break his wudu: O Allah, send blessings upon him; O Allah, have mercy on him. And he remains in prayer as long as he awaits the prayer." Agreed upon (al-Bukhari and Muslim), and this is the wording of al-Bukhari.
