عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ: خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللّهِ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: «أَلا تَصُفُّونَ كمَا تَصُفُّ المَلائِكَةُ عِنْدَ رَبِّهَا؟» فَقُلْنَا: يا رسُولَ اللّهِ، وَكَيْفَ تَصُفُّ المَلائِكَةُ عِنْدَ رَبِّهَا؟ قالَ: «يُتِمُّونَ الصُّفُوفَ الأُوَلَ، ويَتَرَاصُّونَ في الصَّفِّ» رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ.
Jabir ibn Samurah (may Allah be pleased with them both) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out to us and said: "Will you not form your rows as the angels form their rows before their Lord?" We said: "O Messenger of Allah, how do the angels form their rows before their Lord?" He said: "They complete the first rows and stand close together in the row." Reported by Muslim.

تصفون: تصطفون وتسوون صفوفكم. يتراصون: يقتربون من بعضهم فلا يتركون بينهم فرجة.
"You form rows": you line up and straighten your rows. "They stand close together": they draw near one another, leaving no gap between them.
