عنْ أَبي هُرَيْرةَ، رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللّهِ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم قالَ: «لوْ يَعْلَمُ النَّاسُ مَا في النِّدَاءِ وَالصَّفِّ الأَوَّلِ، ثُمَّ لَمْ يَجِدُوا إِلّا أَنْ يَسْتَهِمُوا عَلَيْهِ لاسْتَهَمُوا» مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If the people knew what there is in the call to prayer and the first row, and then found no way to obtain it except by drawing lots, they would draw lots for it." Agreed upon (al-Bukhari and Muslim).
