عَنِ البَرَاءِ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ قالَ: «كُنَّا إِذَا صَلَّيْنَا خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللّهِ صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّمَ أَحْبَبْنَا أَنْ نَكُونَ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ، يُقْبِلُ علَيْنَا بِوَجْهِهِ، فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: «رَبِّ قِنِي عذَابَكَ يَوْمَ تَبْعَثُ -أَوْ تَجْمَعُ- عِبَادَكَ» رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ.
Al-Bara (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "When we prayed behind the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), we loved to be on his right, so that he would turn his face toward us. I heard him say: 'My Lord, protect me from Your punishment on the Day You raise up' — or 'gather' — 'Your servants.'" Reported by Muslim.
الشرح · explanation
يقبل علينا بوجهه: أي بعد السلام من الصلاة يلتفت النَّبِيّ صلّى اللّهُ عليه وسلّم جهة اليمين بوجهه.
"He would turn his face toward us": that is, after the taslim that closes the prayer, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would turn his face toward the right side.

استحباب انفتال الإمام نحو المصلين عن يمينه قبل القيام من الصلاة، وأن لا يسارع بالخروج أو يبقى موليًا ظهره للمصلين. أن يرفع صوته بالدعاء بحيث يسمعه من كان قريبًا منه إذا قصد تعليمهم.
It is recommended for the imam to turn toward the worshippers on his right before rising from the prayer, and not to hasten out nor remain with his back to the worshippers. That he raise his voice in supplication so that those near him may hear it, when he intends to teach them.
