عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُمَا، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّمَ قالَ: «اجْعَلُوا مِنْ صَلاتِكُمْ في بُيُوتِكُمْ، ولا تَتَّخِذُوهَا قُبُورًا» مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ.
Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Make some of your prayers in your houses, and do not turn them into graves." Agreed upon (al-Bukhari and Muslim).
الشرح · explanation
من صلاتكم: أي بعض صلاتكم وهي النفل. ولا تتخذوها قبورًا: أي كالقبور في خلوها من العمل والعبادة.
"Some of your prayers": that is, a portion of your prayers, namely the voluntary prayer. "And do not turn them into graves": that is, like graves in their being empty of deeds and worship.

الحضّ على تعمير البيوت بالصلاة، وعدم جعل البيت شبيهًا بالقبر في خلوه من الخير والعمل الصالح. أنّ المقابر ليست محلًا للصلاة، وأنّ المساجد ليست محلًا للدفن فيها.
The urging to enliven the houses with prayer, and not to make the house resemble a grave in its being empty of good and righteous deeds. That graveyards are not a place for prayer, and that mosques are not a place for burial.
