عَنْ أَبي بُرْدَةَ بْنِ أَبي مُوسـَى الأَشْعَرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ عَبْدُ اللّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُمَا: أَسَمِعْتَ أَبَاكَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللّهِ صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي شَأْنِ سَاعَةِ الجُمُعَةِ؟ قَالَ: قُلْتُ: نَعَمْ، سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللّهِ صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «هِيَ مَا بَيْنَ أَنْ يَجْلِسَ الإِمَامُ إِلَى أَنْ تُقْضَى الصَّلاَةُ» رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ.
Abu Burdah ibn Abi Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: Abdullah ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) asked me: "Did you hear your father narrate from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) concerning the hour of Friday?" I said: "Yes, I heard him say: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'It is between the time the imam sits down and the time the prayer is completed.'" شأن: بيان وقت. ساعة الجمعة: ساعة الإجابة فيها. يجلس الإمام: أي على المنبر. تقضى: تنتهي.
"Concerning": explaining the time. "The hour of Friday": the hour therein in which prayers are answered. "The imam sits down": that is, upon the pulpit. "Is completed": comes to an end.

أنّ ساعة الإجابة هي في فترة الخطبة والصلاة وهذا أصح الأقوال في وقتها، ولذلك تحضرها الملائكة، فينبغي حضور القلب والإخلاص في الإقبال على اللّهِ عزّ وجلّ في هذه الفترة.
The hour in which prayers are answered falls during the period of the sermon and the prayer — this is the most correct of the opinions concerning its timing — and for this reason the angels are present; so one should have presence of heart and sincerity in turning to Allah (the Mighty and Majestic) during this period.
