Fadala ibn Ubayd (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Every deceased person has his deeds sealed [at death], except the one who stands guard (murabit) in the path of Allah; for his deeds continue to grow for him until the Day of Resurrection, and he is protected from the trial of the grave." Reported by Abu Dawud and al-Tirmidhi, who said: a hasan sahih hadith.
