عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللّهِ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَا مِنْ مَكْلُومٍ يُكْلَمُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ إلَّا جَاءَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامةِ وَكَلْمُهُ يَدْمَى، اللَّوْنُ لَوْنُ دَمٍ، وَالرِّيحُ رِيحُ مِسْكٍ» مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No one is wounded in the path of Allah but that he will come on the Day of Resurrection with his wound bleeding: the color the color of blood, and the scent the scent of musk." Agreed upon (al-Bukhari and Muslim).
الشرح · explanation
كلمهُ يدمى: أي جرحه يسيل منه الدم.
"His wound bleeds (kalmuhu yadma)": that is, blood flows from his wound.

أنّ اللّه يُبقي الشهيد على هيئته التي قتل عليها ليكون معه شاهد فضيلته ببذل نفسه في طاعة ربه.
Allah preserves the martyr in the state in which he was killed, so that he bears with him the witness to his virtue in sacrificing himself in obedience to his Lord.
