عَن أبي سعيدٍ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ: أنَّ رسُولَ اللّهِ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم قَال: «مَنْ رَضِيَ بِاللّهِ رَبًّا، وبالإسْلامِ دِينًا، وَبمُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولًا وَجَبَتْ لَهُ الجَنَّةُ» فَعَجِبَ لهَا أبو سَعِيدٍ فَقَالَ: أعِدْها عَلَيَّ يا رَسولَ اللّهِ، فَأَعادَهَا عَلَيْهِ، ثُمَّ قالَ: «وَأُخْرى يَرْفَعُ اللّهُ بِها العَبْدَ مِئَةَ درَجةٍ في الجَنَّةِ، ما بيْنَ كُلِّ دَرَجَتَيْنِ كَما بَيْنَ السَّماءِ والأرْضِ» قال: وما هِيَ يا رسُولَ اللّهِ؟ قال: «الجِهادُ في سبِيلِ اللّهِ، الجِهادُ في سَبيلِ اللهِ» رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ.
Abu Saʿid (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever is content with Allah as Lord, with Islam as religion, and with Muhammad as Messenger, Paradise becomes his due." Abu Saʿid marveled at this and said, "Repeat it for me, O Messenger of Allah." So he repeated it for him, then said: "And there is another [deed] by which Allah raises the servant a hundred degrees in Paradise, between each two degrees [a distance] like that between heaven and earth." He said, "And what is it, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Jihad in the path of Allah, jihad in the path of Allah." Reported by Muslim.

أنّ دخول الجنّة بالإيمان والتفاضل فيها بالأعمال. عظم رفعة المجاهد، وفي الجنّة درجات لا تحصى ومنازل لا تعد وللمجاهد مائة درجة منها. تشويق النّبيّ صَلَّى اللّهُ عليه وَسَلَّمَ أصحابه للجهاد في سبيل اللّهِ.
That entry into Paradise is by faith, and the disparity of ranks within it is by deeds. The greatness of the fighter's elevation: in Paradise there are countless degrees and innumerable stations, and the fighter has a hundred of them. The Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) kindling of his Companions' longing for jihad in the path of Allah.
