عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ: أَنَّ أُمَّ الرُّبَيِّعِ بِنْتَ الْبَرَاءِ -وَهِيَ أُمُّ حَارِثَةَ بْنِ سُرَاقةَ- أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللّهِ، أَلَا تُحدِّثُني عَنْ حَارِثَةَ -وَكَانَ قُتِلَ يَوْمَ بدْرٍ- فَإنْ كَانَ فِي الْجَنَّةِ صَبَرْتُ، وَإنْ كَانَ غَيْرَ ذَلِكَ اجْتَهَدْتُ عَلَيْهِ فِي الْبُكَاءِ، فَقَالَ: «يَا أُمَّ حَارِثَةَ، إنَّهَا جِنَانٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ، وَإنَّ ابْنَكِ أَصَابَ الْفِرْدَوْسَ الْأَعْلَى» رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ.
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: Umm al-Rubayyi' bint al-Bara' — who is the mother of Harithah ibn Suraqah — came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, will you not tell me about Harithah?" — he had been killed on the day of Badr — "If he is in Paradise, I will be patient, and if it is otherwise, I will strive in weeping over him." He said: "O Umm Harithah, it is many gardens in Paradise, and your son has attained al-Firdaws al-A'la (the highest Firdaws)." Reported by al-Bukhari.

أنّ الجنّة جنان ومنازل وأنّ الشهداء في أعلاها. تلطف النّبيّ صَلَّى اللّهُ عليه وَسَلَّمَ بأمّ الشهيد وبشارته لها ببيان منزلة الشهيد في الجنّة. عزاء أمهات الشهداء بمنزلة أبنائهن العالية في الجنة. أنّ الفردوس الأعلى هو أفضل منازل الجنّة.
That Paradise is many gardens and dwellings, and that the martyrs are in its highest. The Prophet's gentleness (peace and blessings be upon him) toward the mother of the martyr, and his glad tidings to her by explaining the martyr's station in Paradise. Consoling the mothers of martyrs with the lofty station of their sons in Paradise. That al-Firdaws al-A'la is the best of the dwellings of Paradise.
