Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) reported: My father was brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) having been mutilated, and he was placed before him. I went to uncover his face, but some people forbade me. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The angels have not ceased to shade him with their wings." Agreed upon (al-Bukhari and Muslim).
"mutilated": the features of his form were disfigured; that was on the day of Uhud when he was martyred. "The angels have not ceased to shade him": that is, they continued to shade him in honor of him.
