عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللّهِ صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَا يَجِدُ الشَّهِيدُ مِنْ مَسِّ الْقَتْلِ إلَّا كَمَا يَجِدُ أَحَدُكُمْ مِنْ مَسِّ الْقَرْصَةِ» رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ وَقَالَ: حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The martyr feels of the pain of being killed only as one of you feels of the sting of a pinch." Reported by al-Tirmidhi, who said: a hasan sahih hadith.
الشرح · explanation
مسّ القتل: ألمه. القرصة: عضّة النملة ونحوها، إشارة إلى الألم الخفيف الذي يزول سريعا.
"the pain of being killed": its pain. "the pinch": the bite of an ant and the like, alluding to the slight pain that quickly passes.

عناية اللّه تعالى بالشهيد حيث يهوِّن عليه الموت ويخفّف عنه آلامه فلا يحس من ألم القتل ومعالجة الموت إلّا ما يكون من ألم القرصة.
Allah the Exalted's care for the martyr, in that He eases death for him and lightens his pains, so that he feels of the pain of being killed and the throes of death only what one feels of the pain of a pinch.
