عَنْ عَبْدِ اللّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُمَا، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «قَفْلَةٌ كَغَزْوَةٍ» رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُودَ بِإِسْنَادٍ جَيِّدٍ.
Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As (may Allah be pleased with them both) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A return [from an expedition] is like a raid." Reported by Abu Dawud with a good chain.
الشرح · explanation
قَفْلَة: أي الرُّجُوعُ مِنَ الْغَزْوِ بَعْدَ فَرَاغِهِ.
"a return" (qaflah): that is, the returning from the expedition after its completion.

أنّ المجاهد يثاب ذاهبًا وآيبًا لأنّ في قفوله حظًا لأهله وراحة لنفسه واستعدادًا بالقوة للعود للجهاد ثانية. أنّ طريق العودة غير آمن ولا يزال محفوفًا بالمخاطر حتى يبلغ الغزاة ديارهم فيكتب لهم فيه كأجر خروجهم.
That the fighter is rewarded both going out and returning, because in his return there is a benefit for his family, rest for himself, and a gathering of strength to return to jihad a second time. That the road of return is not safe and remains fraught with dangers until the fighters reach their homes, so it is recorded for them upon it like the reward of their going out.
