عَنْ عَبْدِ اللّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللّهِ صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ قُتِلَ دُونَ مَالِهِ فَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ» مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ.
Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As (may Allah be pleased with them both) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever is killed defending his property is a martyr." Agreed upon (al-Bukhari and Muslim).

دون ماله: أي مدافعًا صادًّا لمن يريد أخذ ماله ظلمًا وقهرًا.
"Defending his property": that is, warding off and repelling one who seeks to take his property unjustly and by force.

أنّ من قُتل دفاعًا عن ماله يؤخذ منه عنوة وظلمًا فهو شهيد له حكم الشهداء في ثواب الآخرة. أنّه ينبغي للإنسان إذا اعتدى عليه أحد وأراد أخذ ماله عنوةً وظلمًا أن يقاتل دون ماله ويدافع عن نفسه ولا يكونَ صيدًا سهلًا، فهذا يَحُدُّ من انتشار مثل هذه الظواهر الخطيرة في المجتمعات.
Whoever is killed defending his property from being taken by force and unjustly is a martyr, having the ruling of the martyrs with respect to the reward of the Hereafter. When someone is assaulted and another seeks to seize his property by force and unjustly, he should fight in defense of his property and defend himself and not be easy prey; this curbs the spread of such dangerous phenomena in societies.
