عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللّهِ صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ يُسلِّمُ عَلَيَّ إِلّا رَدَّ اللّهُ عَلَيَّ رُوحِي، حَتَّى أَرُدَّ عَليْهِ الْسَّلاَمَ» رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُودَ بِإِسْنَادٍ صَحِيحٍ.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no one who greets me with peace but that Allah returns my soul to me so that I may return the greeting of peace to him." Reported by Abu Dawud with a sahih (authentic) chain.

رد اللّه علي روحي: أي التي تستلزم النطق غالبًا.
"Allah returns my soul to me": that is, the soul that generally makes speech possible.

Encouragement to abundantly send blessings and greetings of peace upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so that the Muslim may attain the honor of having his greeting returned by the noblest of the messengers (peace and blessings be upon him).
