عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللّهِ صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَنْ قَالَ: لا إِلٰهَ إِلّا اللّهُ وَحْدَهُ لا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ، وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ، وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيءٍ قَدِيرٌ، فِي يَوْمٍ مِئَةَ مَرَّةٍ كَانَتْ لَهُ عَدْلَ عَشْرِ رِقَابٍ، وَكُتِبَتْ لَهُ مِئَةُ حَسَنَةٍ، وَمُحِيَتْ عَنْهُ مِئَةُ سَيِّئَةٍ، وَكَانَتْ لَهُ حِرْزًا مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ يَوْمَهُ ذَلِكَ حَتَّى يُمْسِيَ، وَلَمْ يَأْتِ أَحَدٌ بِأَفْضَلَ مِمَّا جَاءَ بِهِ إِلّا رَجُلٌ عَمِلَ أَكثَرَ مِنْهُ» وَقَالَ: «مَنْ قَالَ: سُبْحَانَ اللّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ فِي يَوْمٍ مِئَةَ مَرَّةٍ حُطَّتْ خَطَايَاهُ وَإِنْ كَانَتْ مِثْلَ زَبَدِ الْبَحْرِ» مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever says, 'There is no god but Allah, alone, without partner; His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He is over all things competent,' one hundred times in a day, it is equal for him to freeing ten slaves, one hundred good deeds are recorded for him, one hundred bad deeds are erased from him, and it is a protection for him against Satan for that day until evening; and no one brings anything better than what he has brought, except a man who does more than he did." And he said: "Whoever says, 'Glory be to Allah and praise be to Him,' one hundred times in a day, his sins are wiped away even if they are like the foam of the sea." الشرح · explanation
له الملك: أي له السلطنة والقهر دون سواه. عدل عشر رقاب: أي ما يساوي ثواب إعتاق عشر رقاب. حرزًا: حفظًا. عمل أكثر منه: أي زاد على المائة. زبد البحر: رغوته وما يطفو على وجهه.
"His is the dominion": that is, sovereignty and absolute power belong to Him alone and to none besides Him. "Equal to ten slaves": that is, equivalent to the reward of freeing ten slaves. "A protection": a safeguard. "Does more than he did": that is, exceeds one hundred. "The foam of the sea": its froth and what floats upon its surface.

بيان فضل هذا الذكر. لم يشترط في الحديث متابعة التهليل المذكور مائة مرة لنيل هذا الفضل، فالظاهر أنّ الأمر في ذلك واسع، وأن قيد الأجر الحاصل هنا هو وقوعها في يوم واحد، والأفضل أن يأتي بها متوالية في أول النهار لتكون له حرزًا في يومه كله.
A clarification of the merit of this remembrance. The hadith does not stipulate that the mentioned declaration be said one hundred times consecutively to attain this merit; rather, it appears the matter is broad in this regard, and the only condition for the reward here is that it occur within a single day. Even so, it is best to say it consecutively at the beginning of the day so that it may be a protection for him throughout his entire day.
