عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ: أنَّ رَسُولَ اللّهِ صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «أَقْرَبُ مَا يَكُونُ الْعَبْدُ مِنْ رَبِّهِ وَهَوَ سَاجِدٌ، فَأَكْثِرُوا الدُّعَاءَ» رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The closest a servant is to his Lord is while he is prostrating, so make abundant supplication." Reported by Muslim.

يستحب في السجود أن يكثر من الدعاء مع التسبيح، لكمال تواضع الإنسان لربه في تلك الحالة وهو واضع رأسه على الأرض امتثالًا لأمر اللّه، ولذلك كان وهو في هذه الحال أقرب ما يكون من ربه.
In prostration it is recommended to make abundant supplication along with glorification, because of the person's complete humility before his Lord in that state, placing his head upon the ground in compliance with Allah's command; and for that reason he is, in this state, the closest he can be to his Lord.
