Riyad Al Salihin

Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: When the Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) reached the evening he would say: "We have reached the evening and the dominion belongs to Allah, and all praise is due to Allah. There is no god but Allah alone, having no partner." The narrator said: I think he said among them: "To Him belongs the dominion, and to Him belongs all praise, and He is over all things omnipotent. My Lord, I ask You for the good of this night and the good of what comes after it, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of this night and the evil of what comes after it. My Lord, I seek refuge in You from laziness and the misery of old age. I seek refuge in You from a punishment in the Fire and a punishment in the grave." And when he reached the morning he would say that likewise: "We have reached the morning and the dominion belongs to Allah." Reported by Muslim.
