عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللّهِ صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ يَقُولُ فِي صَبَاحِ كُلِّ يَوْمٍ وَمَسَاءِ كُلِّ لَيْلَةٍ: بِاسْمِ اللّهِ الَّذِي لا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ، ثَلاثَ مَرَّاتٍ إِلَّا لَمْ يَضُرَّهُ شَيْءٌ» رواه ابو داوود والترمذي وقال حديث حسن صحيح.
Uthman ibn Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no servant who says every morning and every evening: 'In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth or in heaven can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing,' three times, but that nothing will harm him." Reported by Abu Dawud and al-Tirmidhi, who said: a hasan sahih hadith.
الشرح · explanation
باسم اللّه: أي أحتمي باسمه تعالى العزيز.
"In the name of Allah": that is, I take protection in His mighty, exalted name.

تأكيد الإتيان بهذا الذكر، ليتحصن الإنسان بقدرة اللّه تعالى من جميع البأس والضرر. الاعتماد على اللّه تعالى وحده في طلب النجاة والسلامة والعافية من جميع النوائب والمصائب والنوازل، فإنّه سبحانه هو الواقي والحافظ للإنسان، وبقدرته يصرف كل أذى وبلاء.
Emphasis on performing this remembrance, so that a person may fortify himself by the power of Allah the Exalted against all adversity and harm. Reliance upon Allah the Exalted alone in seeking deliverance, safety, and well-being from all calamities, afflictions, and adversities; for He, Glorified is He, is the Protector and Guardian of man, and by His power He wards off every harm and trial.
