عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللّهِ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم: «أَلِظُّوا بِيَاذَا الْجَلالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ» رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ وَرَوَاهُ النَّسَائِيُّ مِنْ رِوَايَةِ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الصَّحَابِيِّ، قَالَ الْحَاكِمُ: حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ.
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Cleave persistently to (calling upon) 'O Possessor of Majesty and Honor' (Ya Dhal-Jalali wal-Ikram)." Reported by al-Tirmidhi, and al-Nasa'i reported it from the narration of the Companion Rabiʿah ibn Amir. Al-Hakim said: a hadith with a sahih (authentic) chain.
الشرح · explanation
أَلِظُّوا: مَعْنَاهُ الْزَمُوا هذِهِ الدَّعْوَةَ، وأَكْثِرُوا مِنْهَا.
"Cleave persistently": its meaning is: keep to this supplication and make much of it.

الحثّ على الإكثار من الدعاء، وبدئه بقول ياذَا الْجَلالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ، لما فيها من الثناء التام للّه تعالى ووصفه بصفات الكمال.
Urging one to increase in supplication and to begin it with the words "O Possessor of Majesty and Honor (Ya Dhal-Jalali wal-Ikram)," for it contains complete praise of Allah the Exalted and describes Him with attributes of perfection.
