Riyad Al Salihin

Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) reported from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: "Whoever claims to have had a dream that he did not see will be charged to tie together two barley grains, and he will never do it. Whoever listens to the conversation of a people while they dislike [him hearing] it will have molten lead poured into his ears on the Day of Resurrection. And whoever makes an image will be punished and charged to breathe a soul into it, and he will not be able to do so." Reported by al-Bukhari.

"claims to have had a dream": that is, he says that he dreamed in his sleep and saw such-and-such, while he is lying. "to tie together two barley grains, and he will never do it": that is so his punishment in the Fire may be prolonged, since tying a knot between the two ends of a barley grain is impossible. "al-anuk": molten lead.

A severe threat against one who lies about dreams, because that is a lie against Allah the Exalted and against people. A warning against spying and eavesdropping to learn what people are saying. A severe threat against image-makers, because they contend with the Creator in His power to create.
