عَنْ أَبِي هَرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «كَفَى بِالْمَرْءِ كَذِبًا أَنْ يُحَدِّثَ بِكُلِّ مَا سَمِعَ» رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is enough of a lie for a man to relate everything he hears." Reported by Muslim.

التثبت من الأخبار، وعدم تصديق كل ما يقال. الزجر عن التحدث بكل ما يسمع المرء، فإنّه يسمع الصدق والكذب. النهي عن نقل الكلام بنية الإفساد.
Verifying reports and not believing everything that is said. A rebuke against relating everything one hears, for one hears both truth and falsehood. The prohibition of conveying talk with the intention of causing mischief.
