عَنْ أَبِي هَرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللّه صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «اثْنَتَانِ فِي النَّاسِ هُمَا بِهِمْ كُفْرٌ: الطَّعْنُ فِي النَّسَبِ، وَالنِّيَاحَةُ عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ» رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Two traits found in people are disbelief on their part: impugning lineage, and wailing over the dead." Reported by Muslim.
الشرح · explanation
اثنتان: أي خصلتان. هما بهم كفر: أي إن استحلا مع العلم بالتحريم والإجماع عليه، لأنّهما من أعمال الجاهلية. النياحة: رفع الصوت بالبكاء.
"Two": that is, two traits. "disbelief on their part": that is, if the two are deemed lawful with knowledge of their prohibition and the consensus upon it, since they are among the deeds of the Jahiliyyah (pre-Islamic ignorance). "wailing": raising the voice in weeping.
