عنْ أبي ذَرٍّ رضي اللّه عنْهُ قَال: قِيل لِرسُولِ اللَّه صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم: أَرأَيْتَ الرَّجُلَ الذي يعْملُ الْعملَ مِنَ الخيْرِ، ويحْمدُه النَّاسُ عليه؟ قال: «تِلْكَ عاجِلُ بُشْرَى المُؤْمِنِ»، رواه مسلم.
Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that it was said to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): "What do you say of a man who does a good deed and people praise him for it?" He said: "That is the immediate glad tidings of the believer." Reported by Muslim.
الشرح · explanation
أرأيت: أخبرني. عاجل بشرى المؤمن: أي المشار إليها بقوله تعالى: لَهُمُ الْبُشْرَىٰ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ [سورة يونس ٦٤].
"What do you say (a-ra'ayta)": tell me. "The immediate glad tidings of the believer": that is, those alluded to in the saying of Allah the Exalted: "For them are glad tidings in the worldly life and in the Hereafter" [Surah Yunus: 64].

أنّ الإخلاص للّه تعالى وقصد التقرب إليه لا يعكره ثناء الناس ومدحهم. أنّ إطلاق اللّه تعالى لألسنة الناس بالثناء، دليل على القبول، وشهادة صادقة، وبشرى عاجلة بالفوز والفلاح.
Sincerity to Allah the Exalted and the intention of drawing near to Him are not sullied by people's praise and commendation. Allah the Exalted loosing people's tongues in praise [of someone] is a sign of acceptance, a truthful testimony, and immediate glad tidings of success and salvation.
