عَنِ ابنِ عبَّاسٍ رضي اللّه عنْهُما أنَّ رسُول اللّه صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم قَال: «لا يَخْلُوَنَّ أحدُكُمْ بِامْرأةٍ إلّا مَعَ ذِي مَحْرَمٍ» متفقٌ عليه.
Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "None of you should be alone with a woman except in the presence of a mahram." Agreed upon (al-Bukhari and Muslim).
الشرح · explanation
بامرأة: أي امرأة أجنبية عنه. إلا مع ذي محرم: أي محرم لها لتنتفي الخلوة.
"With a woman": that is, a woman who is a non-mahram to him. "Except in the presence of a mahram": that is, a mahram of hers, so that seclusion is negated.
