عنْ أبي هُريرةَ رضي اللّه عنْهُ أنَّ رسُول اللّه صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم قَالَ: «لا يمْشِ أحدُكُم في نَعْلٍ واحِدَةٍ، لِينْعَلْهُما جمِيعًا، أوْ لِيخْلَعْهُمَا جمِيعًا» وفي روايةٍ «أوْ لِيُحْفِهِما جميعًا» متفقٌ عليْهِ.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Let none of you walk in one sandal; let him wear both or take off both." In another narration: "or go barefoot in both." Agreed upon (al-Bukhari and Muslim).
الشرح · explanation
لينعلهما جميعًا: أي يلبس النعلين في كلتا رجليه. ليخلعهما: أي ينزع رجليه من النعلين. ليحفهما: من الحفاء، وهو المشي بغير نعل.
"Let him wear both" (li-yunʿilhuma): that is, let him put both sandals on both his feet. "Let him take them off" (li-yakhlaʿhuma): that is, let him remove both feet from the sandals. "Li-yuhfihima": from hafa', which is walking without sandals.

كراهة المشي وإحدى الرجلين منتعلة والأخرى حافية، لأنّ في هذا تشويهًا وإخلالًا بالوقار، وفيه عدم عدل بين الأعضاء، كما أنّه يجعل المشي عسيرًا وقد يكون سبب تعثره وسقوطه على الأرض، فإن كان هناك عذر يمنع من لبس النعل في إحدى الرجلين فلا كراهة.
The dislike of walking with one foot shod and the other bare, because in this there is disfigurement and a breach of dignity, and a lack of fairness between the limbs; likewise it makes walking difficult and may cause one to stumble and fall to the ground. But if there is an excuse preventing the wearing of a sandal on one foot, then there is no dislike.
