التنفير من التصوير، وبيان عذاب المصورين يوم القيامة. التصوير نوعان: أ. التصوير والرسم باليد: بأن يخطط الإنسان الصورة بيده حتى يكملها، فتكون مثل الصورة التي خلق اللّه تعالى، لأنّه حاول أن يبدع كإبداع اللّه تعالى ويخلق كخلقه، فلا شكّ في تحريمه وأنّه من كبائر الذنوب. ب. أن يكون تصوير ذوات الأرواح بغير اليد: مثل التصوير بالكاميرا التي تنقل الصورة التي خلقها اللّه تعالى على ما هي عليه، من غير أن يكون للمصور عمل في تخطيطها سوى تحريك الآلة التي تنطبع بها الصورة على الورقة، فهذا محل نظر واجتهاد.

Discouragement from image-making, and a clarification of the punishment of image-makers on the Day of Resurrection. Image-making is of two kinds: a. Image-making and drawing by hand: that a person sketches the image with his hand until he completes it, so that it becomes like the image that Allah the Exalted created, because he attempted to originate as Allah the Exalted originates and to create as He creates; there is no doubt about its prohibition and that it is among the major sins. b. That the imaging of ensouled beings be by other than the hand: such as imaging with a camera, which transfers the image that Allah the Exalted created just as it is, without the maker having any part in sketching it beyond moving the device by which the image is imprinted upon the paper; this is a matter of consideration and ijtihad (scholarly effort).
