عَنْ أَنَسٍ رضي اللّه عَنهُ قَاَل: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم: «مَا كَانَ الْفُحْشُ في شَيْءٍ إِلّا شانَهُ، ومَا كَانَ الحَيَاءُ في شَيْءٍ إِلّا زَانَهُ» رواه الترمذي، وقال: حديثٌ حسن.
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Obscenity is never present in anything without disgracing it, and modesty is never present in anything without adorning it." Reported by al-Tirmidhi, who said: a hasan (good) hadith.

شانه: من الشين وهو النقص والعيب.
"Disgraced it (shanahu)": from shayn, meaning defect and blemish.

الحثّ على ترك الفحش، لأنّ الفاحش يجرؤ على الوقوع في كل معيب وناقص. الحثّ على التحلي بالحياء لأنّه يحمل على ترك ما يلام على فعله ويبعد من اتصف به عن ملابسة العيب والناقص.
A call to abandon obscenity, since the obscene person grows bold to fall into everything defective and blameworthy. A call to adorn oneself with modesty, for it induces one to leave what is blameworthy to do and keeps whoever possesses it away from involvement in fault and deficiency.
