عَنْ جَابِرٍ رَضيَ اللّه عَنْهُ: أَنَّ رسُولَ اللّهِ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم نَهَى أَنْ يُبَال في المَاءِ الرَّاكدِ. رواهُ مسلم.
Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade urinating in stagnant water. Reported by Muslim.

"Stagnant (al-rakid)": standing water that does not flow.

النهي عن البول في الماء الدائم ولو كان كثيرًا، والنهي محمول على التنزيه إذا كان الماء ملكًا له أو مباحًا، فإن كان سبيلًا أو مملوكًا للغير حرم به، والكراهة في الغائط أشد وأفحش.
The prohibition of urinating in standing water, even if it is plentiful. The prohibition is taken to mean [mere] disapproval if the water belongs to him or is unowned; but if it is a public water source (sabil) or owned by someone else, it is forbidden thereby. The disapproval regarding defecation [in it] is more severe and more repugnant.
