عَنْ أبي هُريْرَةَ رضي اللّه عَنْهُ قالَ: قالَ رَسُولُ اللّهِ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم: «لا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يَحْسِرَ الْفُرَاتُ عَنْ جبَلٍ منْ ذَهَبٍ يُقْتَتَلُ علَيْهِ، فيُقْتَلُ مِنْ كُلِّ مِائةٍ تِسْعَةٌ وتِسْعُونَ، فَيَقُولُ كُلُّ رَجُلٍ مِنْهُمْ: لَعَلِّي أنْ أكُونَ أنَا أنْجُو». وفي روايةٍ «يوُشِكُ أنْ يَحْسِرَ الْفُرَاتُ عَن كَنْزٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، فَمَن حَضَرَهُ فَلا يأخُذْ منْهُ شَيْئا» متفقٌ عليه.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The Hour will not be established until the Euphrates uncovers a mountain of gold, over which people will fight, so that out of every hundred, ninety-nine will be killed, and every man among them will say: 'Perhaps I will be the one who survives.'" In another narration: "The Euphrates is about to uncover a treasure of gold; whoever is present at it, let him not take anything from it." Agreed upon (al-Bukhari and Muslim).

الإخبار عن أمر مستقبل، وهو أمر غيبي لم تتكشف حقيقته، ويظهر أمره حين وقوعه، ولا يسع المسلم الآن إلّا التسليم به وانتظار الوقوع. وجوب البعد عن أخذ شيء من ذلك المال لأنّه لا يصل إليه إلّا بالقتال وفي البعد عنه السلامة. البعد عن الفتن والحذر منها، والمال من الفتن التي توقع الشقاق والخلاف بين الناس.
The informing of a future matter, which is an unseen affair whose reality has not been disclosed; its truth will appear when it occurs, and the Muslim now can only submit to it and await its occurrence. The obligation to keep away from taking any of that wealth, because one cannot reach it except through fighting, and in keeping away from it lies safety. Keeping away from trials and being wary of them; wealth is among the trials that cause discord and dispute between people.
