عنْ رِفَاعَةَ بنِ رافعٍ الزُرقيِّ رضي اللّه عنْهُ قالَ: جاء جِبْريلُ إلى النبيّ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم قالَ: مَا تَعُدُّونَ أهْلَ بَدْرٍ فيكُمْ؟ قالَ: «مِنْ أفْضَلِ المُسْلِمِين» أوْ كَلِمَةً نَحْوَهَا قالَ: «وَكَذَلكَ مَنْ شَهِدَ بَدْرًا مِنَ المَلائِكَةِ». رواه البخاري.
Rifa'ah ibn Rafi' al-Zuraqi (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Jibril came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "How do you reckon the people of Badr among you?" He said: "Among the best of the Muslims" — or a phrase like it. He (Jibril) said: "And likewise those of the angels who witnessed Badr." Reported by al-Bukhari.
الشرح · explanation
مَن شَهِد بدرًا مِن الملائكة: أي ونَحْنُ الملائكةَ نَعُدُّ مَن شَهِد بدرًا مِن الملائكةِ مِن أفضلِ الملائكةِ.
"Those of the angels who witnessed Badr": that is, we the angels reckon those of the angels who witnessed Badr among the best of the angels.
