عنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رضِي اللّه عنْهُما قَال: قالَ رَسُولُ اللّهِ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم: «منْ لَزِم الاسْتِغْفَار، جعل اللّه لَهُ مِنْ كُلِّ ضِيقٍ مخْرجًا، ومنْ كُلِّ هَمٍّ فَرجًا، وَرَزَقَهُ مِنْ حيْثُ لا يَحْتَسِبُ» رواه أبو داود.
Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever keeps constant in seeking forgiveness, Allah will make for him a way out of every difficulty, a relief from every worry, and will provide for him from where he does not reckon." Reported by Abu Dawud.
الشرح · explanation
لزم الاستغفار: أي أكثر من الاستغفار وداوم عليه. من كل ضيق مخرجًا: أي من كل شدة سبيلًا للنجاة، وذلك بأن يلطف به ويحميه. ومن كل هم فرجًا: أي ومن كل حزن ما يزيل عنه سببه ويفتح له سببًا للنجاة والسرور. من حيث لا يحتسب: يأتيه الفوز من حيث لا يتوقع ولا ينتظر فتكون المفاجأة سارة أكثر.
"Keeps constant in seeking forgiveness (lazima al-istighfar)": that is, he seeks forgiveness abundantly and maintains it regularly. "A way out of every difficulty": that is, from every hardship a path to deliverance, in that He is gentle with him and protects him. "A relief from every worry": that is, from every grief, something that removes its cause and opens for him a means to deliverance and joy. "From where he does not reckon": success comes to him from where he does not expect or anticipate, so that the surprise is all the more delightful.
