عَنِ المُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَة رَضِي اللّه عَنْهُ عنْ رسُولِ اللّهِ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم قَالَ: «سأَل مُوسَى صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم ربَّهُ، ما أَدْنَى أَهْلِ الْجنَّةِ مَنْزلَةً؟ قَالَ: هُو رَجُلٌ يجِيءُ بعْدَ ما أُدْخِل أَهْلُ الْجنَّةِ الْجَنَّةَ، فَيُقَالُ لَهُ: ادْخُلِ الْجنَّة، فَيقُولُ: أَيْ رَبِّ كَيْفَ وقَدْ نَزَل النَّاسُ منَازِلَهُمْ، وأَخَذُوا أَخَذاتِهِم؟ فَيُقَالُ لهُ: أَتَرضى أَنْ يكُونَ لَكَ مِثْلُ مُلْكِ مَلِكٍ مِنْ مُلُوكِ الدُّنْيا؟ فَيقُولُ: رضِيتُ ربِّ، فَيقُولُ: لَكَ ذَلِكَ ومِثْلُهُ ومِثْلُهُ ومِثْلُهُ ومِثْلُهُ، فَيقُولُ في الْخَامِسَةِ: رضِيتُ ربِّ، فَيَقُولُ: هَذَا لَكَ وعشَرةُ أَمْثَالِهِ، ولَكَ ما اشْتَهَتْ نَفْسُكَ، ولَذَّتْ عَيْنُكَ، فَيَقُولُ: رضِيتُ ربِّ، قَالَ: ربِّ فَأَعْلاهُمْ منْزِلَةً؟ قال: أُولَئِك الَّذِينَ أَردْتُ، غَرسْتُ كَرامتَهُمْ بِيدِي وخَتَمْتُ علَيْهَا، فَلَمْ تَر عيْنٌ، ولَمْ تَسْمعْ أُذُنٌ، ولَمْ يخْطُرْ عَلَى قَلْبِ بشَرٍ» رواهُ مُسْلم.
Al-Mughira ibn Shu'ba (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Musa (peace be upon him) asked his Lord: Who is the lowest of the people of Paradise in rank? He said: He is a man who comes after the people of Paradise have [already] entered Paradise. It is said to him: Enter Paradise. He says: O my Lord, how, when the people have [already] settled in their places and taken their shares? So it is said to him: Would you be content to have the like of the kingdom of one of the kings of this world? He says: I am content, my Lord. He says: You shall have that, and the like of it, and the like of it, and the like of it, and the like of it. At the fifth he says: I am content, my Lord. He says: This is yours, and ten times the like of it, and you shall have whatever your soul desires and your eye delights in. He says: I am content, my Lord. He [Musa] said: My Lord, then who is the highest of them in rank? He said: Those are the ones whom I intended [to honor]: I planted their honor with My own hand and sealed over it, so no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and it has not conceived in the heart of any human." الشرح · explanation
ما أدنى؟: أي ما أنزل. أخذوا أخذاتهم: أي نالوا من النعيم ما أعدّ اللّه لهم. غرست كرامتهم بيدي: أي من غير توسّط مَلَكٍ ولا غيره زيادة في كرامتهم. ختمت عليها: لئلّا يراها غيرهم زيادة في التكريم.
"Who is the lowest?": that is, the least [in rank]. "Taken their shares": that is, they obtained of the bliss what Allah had prepared for them. "I planted their honor with My own hand": that is, without the mediation of an angel or anyone else, as an increase in their honor. "I sealed over it": so that none other than they would see it, as an increase in honoring [them].
